America’s Blood Centers (ABC) is always seeking ways to get schools involved, and this video is one great example. Take some time to check it out.
As part of ABC’s partnership with the Foundation for America’s Blood Centers, they co-sponsored a contest for high school students, challenging students to create an “outstanding and humorous” public service announcement (PSA) video that carried the theme “I gave blood because.”
Las Plumas High School and partner blood center BloodSource, won the contest, receiving a $1,500 award to be used towards an academic or educational activity. BloodSource‘s reward was used to enhance school donor recruitment and retention efforts.
Do what the video says, “GIVE BLOOD.” Go to DonorPoint.org and make an appointment to give blood today. You will soon be the one earning rewards! And for schools looking to get involved, stay tuned for future contests!
